27 травня 2019 року минає 89-та річниця від дня народження потомственого опішненського гончаря Миколи Гавриловича Пошивайла – представника одного з найдавніших і найвідоміших гончарських родів України, який своїми коренями сягає XVІІІ століття.
Дивовижний світ глинотворчості Миколі Пошивайлу відкрили батьки – віртуозний гончар Гаврило Ничипорович і малювальниця від бога Явдоха Данилівна. Микола ще в дитинстві відчув, що в його руках має продовжитися родинне ремесло його предків. Обираючи свій життєвий шлях, старший із трьох синів не мислив себе без гончарства. Віддавши понад тридцять років гончарному ремеслу (працював творчим майстром у заводі «Художній керамік»), не полишав гончарювати і вдома для душі.
