У Національному музеї-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному, а також у всіх музеях-садибах постійно діють виставки-продажі сувенірів із глини. Поряд можна придбати керамологічну й народознавчу літературу, альбоми-каталоги виставок, листівки, відеофільми, які необхідні етнографам, мистецтвознавцям, історикам, студентам художніх вузів і людям, які не байдужі до мистецтва. Більша ж частина відвідувачів Музею купують кераміку в кіоску Музею, на виставках-продажах у музеях-садибах, мистецьких галереях. Тут представлена продукція на різні смаки й естетичні уподобання, кращі роботи опішненських майстрів, відсутня кітчева кераміка.
Інколи чуємо репліку: «Поїдемо на базар – там дешевше». Щоб побачити, чим приваблює «керамічний базарчик» відвідала його і я. Опішнянської кераміки обмаль. Це, здебільшого, миски, горщики для печені, макітри, дитяча іграшка. Прилавки заполонила кераміка зі Слов’янська та Василькова. Цікавлюся цінами, ні, не дешевше. Продавці кераміки заробляють гроші, завдяки існуванню Музею в Опішному. Хто б купував сувеніри, якби не приїжджали екскурсії в Музей?!
