Горщик-вулик. 2009. Фото Тараса Пошивайла. Меморіальний музей-садиба гончарської родини Пошивайлів
Поглянувши на фото і прочитавши назву «Оригінальний експонат», читач здивовано зниже плечима: мовляв, що ж такого оригінального в звичайному горщику? Проте якщо уважно придивитися, то побачите, що він незвичайний, оскільки на його стінках є наскрізні отвори. Для чого вони? Про це дещо пізніше. Зараз з’ясуємо, для чого використовували горщики.
Здавна горщики виготовлялися різної величини – від 0,5 л до 5-6 відер. Кожен тип горщика мав свою назву й певне призначення. У найбільших із них – «золінниках» – гріли воду (тримали різні сипучі продукти, солили огірки, яблука, груші), готували страви для застілля з великою кількістю людей.
У горщиках меншої величини – «борщівниках» – варили рідкі страви на одну сім’ю: борщ, юшку тощо. Каші готували в менших виробах – «кашниках». У найменших горщиках, які називали «горщами», «махітками», «малечами», готували різні страви для дітей, а також тримали масло, сметану.
Для перенесення гарячих страв у поле користувалися «двійнятками» – двома невеликими горщечками, з’єднаними з боків докупи, з ручкою-кільцем: в один горщик насипалася рідка страва, в інший – накладалася каша.
Мало хто знає, що горщики використовувалися у бджільництві. У давнину гончарі виготовляли «горщики-вулики». Їх використовували для приманювання роїв. Оселених у таку посудину бджіл згодом пересипали у вулик. А ще наші предки користувалися ними при захисті від чужинців. Такі горщики-вулики тримали при замках. Коли вороги оточували цитадель і тримали її в облозі, охоронці скидали на них ці вулики, внаслідок чого розлючені бджоли закусували вояків.
Саме такий горщик-вулик зберігається в колекції Меморіального музею-садиби гончарської родини Пошивайлів.
Мабуть, не було жодного відвідувача, який би не зупинив свого захоплюючого погляду на цьому горщику, розміщеному в центрі виробів, які знаходяться прямо на підлозі. На вигляд це звичайний горщик місткістю понад 40 літрів, на стінках якого багато наскрізних отворів для бджіл. Зовні і всередині горщик оздоблений золотисто-медовою поливою, покришка його не збереглася. Виготовлений він в Опішному понад 100 років тому. Цей керамічний виріб є рідкісним експонатом.
На жаль, нині цим глиняним посудом у побуті користуються все далі рідше, і ми знаходимо його у музеях як експонати.
