«З перших хвилин, після заходу у двір митців, діти зарядилися оптимізмом, енергією і творчістю. Тому і народився у нас такий вірш:
Чудового літнього дня
Зустрівся наш табір із казкою,
Адже дім видатних гончарів
Оповитий любов’ю і ласкою.
В садибі цій все незвичайне:
Просте, й разом з тим – неповторне.
Прийшовши сюди вже не вперше,
Цікаве знаходимо ми знову.
Макітерки, вази, скульптури,
Барила, ще супники й горщики –
Усе дивовижне й красиве,
І як все створилось знать хочеться.
Було б тільки наше бажання,
Бо гарні, чарівні дві пані
Про вироби ці нам розкажуть
І створять для всіх настрій гарний.
Спасибі, що в нас є музей,
Спасибі за руки трудящі!
Одержали ми задоволення.
Ми знаємо – Опішня найкраща!
З повагою і вдячністю,

Упродовж 14 червня – 3 липня 2011 року в Національному музеї-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному діяла «Е-літня Академія ГОНЧАРства для харизматиків, романтиків, диваків і діячів», покликана дати учасникам основні навички роботи з глиною й уявлення про традиції українського гончарства.
20 червня 2011 року учасники «Е-літньої Академії ГОНЧАРства» завітали в Меморіальний музей-садибу гончарської родини Пошивайлів, де ознаймилися з життєвим і творчим шляхом представників цієї династії – Явдохи та Гаврила Пошивайлів, їхнього сина Миколи, внука Юрка. Саме на прикладі цього роду можна відстежити шлях розвитку, збереження й примноження традицій гончаротворення упродовж кількох століть.

Незважаючи на кризу в Україні, кожна людина прагне духовності – ось такої думки були викладачі й студенти Сумського кооперативного технікуму, групи 912-ф (фінанси і кредит), яка відвідала Меморіальний музей-садибу гончарської родини Пошивайлів. «Ми отримали велике задоволення від побаченого: чудові вироби подружжя Пошивайлів, інтер’єр житла, а особливо вдячні за надану можливість поспілкуватися з глиною». Як сказала викладач-куратор Людмила Анатоліївна Сіробаба, «саме тут студенти ознайомилися з традиціями і звичаями опішненських гончарів, а для нас, старшого покоління, це був «бальзам» для душі».

Тітоньку Явдоху я добре пам’ятаю з дитинства. Мій тато, рідний брат Явдохи Данилівни, Бородавка Лука Данилович, працював на шамотному заводі ім.Ворошилова Ольгинського району Сталінської області (зараз Володимирівка Волновахський р-н. Донецька область). Сюди приїхав за направленням на роботу після закінчення Полтавського технікуму. Приїджав на малу батьківщину в с.Опішне. Пригадую 1948 рік, наша родина жила тоді в м.Мінську (Білорусія), голодні післявоєнні роки. Якою була наша радість коли тато привіз з Опішнего від тітоньки смачні гостинці – запечені в печі сливи, фруктове повидло в опішнянських глечиках. Ми пригощали ласощами всіх сусідів і розповідали про життя родичів Опішнего.

Український рушник. Стелиться, ніби дорога. Вабить, наче вічність. Зачаровує, мов пісня. Він є неодмінним атрибутом народного побуту, весільної обрядовості й традиційної окраси українських хат.
Полтавські рушники здебільшого оздоблені розкішними рослинними орнаментами – це «дерево життя», що символізує природу-матір, популярним є зображення птахів, що означає кохання та щастя, часто зустрічається також «дерево-квітка», «вазон із квітами». Мотиви «вазона», «дерева» скрізь зберігають один і той самий принцип у зображенні рослин. На рушниках квіти, пуп’янки виглядають площинно, внутрішню будову квітки передано різними рушниковими заповненнями. Ці мотиви мають завжди свій логічний початок і завершення. То можуть бути вазони найрізноманітнішої конфігурації: видовженої форми вази, округлих обрисів глечик, типовий за формою для кераміки Полтавщини.
