У Меморіальному музеї-садибі гончарської родини Пошивайлів усе частіше бувають екскурсанти, які цілеспрямовано прагнуть отримати інформацію про минуле й сучасне гончарства, пізнати таїну виготовлення виробів з глини. Отримані знання використовують для написання наукових робіт.
Матеріали для магістерської роботи знайшла тут студентка п’ятого курсу Інституту історії Чернігівського національного педагогічного університету Каріна Солдатова. Вона сказала: «…Музей родини Пошивайлів – особливий, адже в ньому справді можна відчути атмосферу давнини й гончарської краси, яка створена завдяки славетній родині гончарів. Бажаю вашому музею процвітання й довголіття».
Своїми думками поділилася колишня мешканка Опішного Наталя Галушка: «Моє дитинство пройшло у хаті бабусі Дуні (Явдохи Пошивайло), бо жили в Опішні ми по-сусідству. Вона нас, близнят, часто забирала до себе, бавила, давала глину. Ми ліпили, вчилися у неї малювати. Нині тут музей-садиба, який я пам’ятаю ще за їх життя. Сюди привела і свою доньку Катрусю, ученицю 3-го класу Полтавської гімназії №33. У школі їй запропонували написати наукову роботу. Поштовхом для обрання теми стало знайомство з колекцією глиняної іграшки родини Пошивайлів. Монетки, свистунці, барині, козаки, вершники – дивовижні, цікаві – є актуальними на сьогоднішній день. Вони несуть позитивну енергію. Під час екскурсії отримали потрібну інформацію для наукової роботи.
