Під час церемонії відкриття ІІІ Національної виставки-конкурсу художньої кераміки «КерамПІК у Опішному» відомий різьбяр Олександр Макарович Олешко (1938 р.н.) з Полтавщини подарував Національному музею-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному різьблені панно з портретами гончарів – Гаврила та Миколи Пошивайлів, і таріль з портретом малювальниці Явдохи Пошивайло. Свій вчинок він пояснив так: «Роботи ці 1974 року. Я зобразив їх (майстрів) такими, якими я їх знав. Дуже хочу, щоб вони зберігалися в музеї Опішного, тому що доля народних майстрів – усе залишати людям».
Олександр Макарович свого часу був знайомий з родиною Пошивайлів: неодноразово бував удома, часто зустрічався й спілкувався в Будинку народної творчості (Полтава). Мріяв ще хоч раз побувати в Опішному, в Меморіальному музеї-садибі гончарської родини Пошивайлів… Цю мрію допомогла йому здійснити донька – Лілія Демченко.
