Тренди в історії прикрас започаткувала Месопотамія, і за вісім тисяч років змінилося небагато. Саме в Шумерському царстві з’явилося поняття дорогоцінних каменів і металів, з коралів і перлів почали нанизувати намиста.
Намисто – одна з найдавніших жіночих прикрас на території України. Численні назви – «монисто», «буси», «коралі», «бісери» – свідчать про їх чималу історію й значну роль у культурі нашої країни. Для українських жінок це не просто прикраса, значення намиста глибоко символічне. Насамперед, це – оберіг, захист від злих духів і недобрих людей, яскраво червоне намисто на жінці означало, що вона здорова.
Півтора століття тому намисто було частиною ритуалу, соціальним паспортом, який свідчив про походження, достаток, вік, статус власниці, було невід’ємним елементом українського одягу. Найпоширенішим по всій Україні було коралове намисто. Червоні коралі на тлі української вишиванки – це неймовірна краса й вишуканість.
Брендом сучасних прикрас дівчат і жінок є глиняне намисто. Прикраси з випаленої глини, з екологічно чистого матеріалу, в давнину звалися «палюхами», їх носили ще трипільці. Традиція носити таку прикрасу, пройшовши крізь віки, збереглася й донині. У крамниці Національного музею-заповідника українського гончарства можна придбати глиняне намисто, яке задовольнить естетичні смаки найвибагливіших модниць. Воно підкреслить жіночу витонченість і красу, чарівність, індивідуальність, неповторність, доповнить стиль вбрання сучасної української жінки.
