Минає дев’ять днів, як відійшов за межу неосягненної Вічності один з патріархів опішненського гончарства – заслужений майстер народної творчості України, член Національної спілки художників України, член Національної спілки майстрів народного мистецтва України, лауреат Всеукраїнської літературно-мистецької премії імені Івана Нечуя-Левицького Микола Пошивайло.
Усе життя МАЙСТРА було віддане гончарству – споконвічній справі прадавнього роду Пошивайлів, яка стала і його покликанням. Творчість Маестро дивувала світ високохудожніми витворами з магічного матеріалу – глини, не залишаючи байдужих. Особливо ж його любили діти, з якими Майстер працював до останніх днів: на очах цікавої малечі перетворював сіру грудочку глини в чарівні іграшки, щиросердно даруючи свій талант та радість спілкування з глиною.
Пішов… Та слід його бачиться всюди: на садибі, в оселі, у майстерні, де на столі залишилася незакінчена іграшка, очікуючи його повернення; скрізь: у наповнених невимовною тугою та горем очах рідних, близьких, у кожному із нас, хто знав і шанував Майстра. А ще – у спогадах багатьох людей, які мали щастя навчатися в нього мистецтву гончаротворення.
Пам'ять про Вас буде вічно жити у Ваших глиняних творіннях, у Ваших учнях. Хай пухом буде Вам, Миколо Гавриловичу, опішненська земля, яка Вас народила, виростила й прийняла у свої обійми!
