До нашого часу дійшло небагато творів давнього українського малярства. У колекції Меморіального музею-садиби гончарської родини Пошивайлів експонується декілька картин невідомих народних художників, виконаних на полотні, фанері, склі.

«Моя бабуня Онися часто ходила до церкви. До найближчого храму Святої Покрови в Опішні було кілометрів з п’ять. Ходила туди пішки, беручи з собою і мене п’ятирічну. Батьки були на роботі, і хоч це все суворо заборонялося (мама комсомолка, батько – член КПРС), я частенько бувала в церкві. На Млинянську гору збиралися ще зарання, коли всі горби довкола сяяли від роси, сонечко було свіжісіньке, як умите, Ворскла блакитною стрічкою губилася десь в темно-зелених лісах на горизонті. Бабуня, аби я не швидко втомилася, розповідала мені про все довкола: про млинянський люд, який жив колись, про своє дитинство; хвалила Господа. І я малим козеням тупцяла слідом за нею, вбираючи в себе все те, а ще несла в собі наївне дитяче бачення: «Бабуня обов’язково купить мені гостинця!».

Останні дні літа в Меморіальному музеї-садибі гончарської родини Пошивайлів були багатими на відвідувачів. Цьому сприяла й погода. Погожі дні з помірним теплом, яскравим сонечком та поодинокими жовтими листочками, що злітають, кружляючи, з берізок та лип, нагадують, що скоро осінь. Саме в такі дні хочеться відпочити, помандрувати, помріяти. Багато таких мандрівників приваблює Опішне.

«Гостюючи в бабусі в Новосанжарському районі (Полтавщина), я побачив старовинні горшки. Запитав, як потрапили сюди. Вона розповіла, що вони з Опішні. Через Інтернет поцікавився, що можна тут (в Опішні) побачити. Приїхав з друзями, і не жалкую: є на що подивитись, і дуже багато дають інформації. В нас (Республіка Білорусь) також існували гончарні осередки, але на сьогодні майже нічого не відомо. Старих майстрів немає, у музеях експонатів мало. Добре, що тут можна побачити. Так багато збережено. Це вразило мене. Я працюю з глиною два роки, вмію виготовляти посуд. Мене дуже цікавлять форми, розміри. А ще роблю окарини. Це музичні інструменти, які виготовляли в Італії ще у Vстолітті. Форма моїх окарин класична, дещо схожа на тулуби пташок. Їх зручно тримати, і можна грати мелодію. Це складно, і цьому я зараз навчаюсь»(Роман Хусметдинов, Республіка Білорусь).
