Гаврило Пошивайло – славетний опішненський гончар, відомий творець української народної кераміки – народився 7 квітня 1909 року (на Благовіщення) в родині потомственного гончаря-посудника, кустаря-середняка Ничипора Тарасовича Пошивайла й гончарки Ганни Іванівни Пошивайло.

Гончарка Явдоха Пошивайло – одна з найцікавіших гончарних малювальниць в Україні, яскрава представниця опішнянської школи художньої мальовки. Вона, за беззаперечним визнанням мистецтвознавців, була малювальницею від Бога. Разом зі своїм чоловіком – потомственним гончарем Гаврилом Ничипоровичем Пошивайлом (1909–1991) – продемонстрували всім оточуючим взірець відданості гончарству. Упродовж грудня 2014 – січня 2015 року в Національному музеї українського народного декоративного мистецтва проходив культурно-мистецький проект «Чайник як привід для бесіди». Одним з його учасників став Національний музей-заповідник українського гончарства в Опішному, який презентував власну колекцію чайників. Серед численних творів як давнього, так і сучасного гончарного мистецтва гідне місце зайняли експонати Меморіального музею-садиби гончарської родини Пошивайлів.
